Peek-a-boo

After we got home from church and supped together we went on a little walk.  Creation doesn't need a calendar to say that spring officially begins March 20.

The Alec tree has tulips and jonquils emerging from their winter's rest.

Our lavender bush, gone mad, has tiny little buds everywhere.

The forsythia is also warming up.

Any my favorite mother's day present, our lilac tree, is also preparing for the days ahead.  These flowers always blossom in time for teacher appreciation week and I get to share them with the kids teachers.  What an amazing fragrance!

Lord, prepare our hearts for the springtime season ahead.  May we blossom where we are planted and grow in the places you see fit.  Put an extra bounce in our walk and a sparkle in our day as we grow closer to you day by day.

Coram Deo,
E.W.

Star Flakes

It is snowing starflakes.  Look at our pool cover...the star of David.  How does He do it?

His firmament, His handiwork, His creativity...it is endless!

White as Snow

They call this kind of snow storm a white-out.

"As I looked, "thrones were set in place, and the Ancient of Days took his seat. His clothing was as white as snow; the hair of his head was white like wool. His throne was flaming with fire, and its wheels were all ablaze."  Daniel 7:9

He says to the snow, 'Fall on the earth,' and to the rain shower, 'Be a mighty downpour.'
Job 37:6

"Have you entered the storehouse of the snow or sen the storehouses of the hail,
Job 38:22

Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.
Psalm 51:7
He spreads the snow like wool and scatters the frost like ashes.
Psalm 147:16
The wind blew dramatically and swept up the flakes till it clung to everything.

Matthew 28:3
His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow.

As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater.  Isaiah 55:10
Red is set best against a white back-drop.

Like the coolness of snow at harvest time is a trustworthy messenger to those who send him; he refreshes the spirit of his masters.  Proverbs 25:13

lightning and hail, snow and clouds, stormy winds that do his bidding,
Psalm 148:8

"Come now, let us reason together," says the LORD. "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.  Isaiah 1:18
My snow angel.

Revelation 1:14, His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire.
Enchanted with snow,

November Morning Sunrise

Like a kid on Christmas morning I opened my eyes to see the cast of pink shadows illuminating my window shades.

I ran downstairs, grabbed my camera and a nearby scarf and headed outside in my Tigger pajamas.  There was no time to lose!

I felt like a kid in a candy shop.  My eyes were aglow with the beauty before me (only this treat is fat-free!).  When God makes a pink sunrise, I know He is thinking especially of me...pink is my signature color!
I imagine that heavenly trumpets are being sounded, only we can't hear them, they are silent to our ears but not to our eyes.  The heavens declare the glory of God, declare it along with Him!  He is extraordinary!

Let my teaching fall like rain and my words descend like dew, like showers on new grass, like abundant rain on tender plants.  Deuteronomy 32:2

It's a new day dear one!  There are no mistakes in it, clean slate, all fresh!  I pray for us all to gaze upon the One who lights up the morning to light up our hearts with love!

Blessings,
E.W.

Harvest Moon

My sweet honey took these pictures tonight with his tripod.  This poem is for him...

Harvest Moon

 Come a little bit closer
Hear what I have to say
Just like children sleepin’
We could dream this night away.

But there’s a full moon risin’
Let’s go dancin’ in the light
We know where the music’s playin’
Let’s go out and feel the night.

Because I’m still in love with you
I want to see you dance again
Because I’m still in love with you
On this harvest moon.

When we were strangers
I watched you from afar
When we were lovers
I loved you with all my heart.

But now it’s gettin’ late
And the moon is climbin’ high
I want to celebrate
See it shinin’ in your eye.

Because I’m still in love with you
I want to see you dance again
Because I’m still in love with you
On this harvest moon.

Tiptoe through the sunflowers

This field is amazing.  A gazillion sunflowers larger than life.
I love that the flowers all face the same direction.  Like they are eagerly anticipating something great!

The kids in the hood.

Not sure what is up with my hair...I look like a wild woman!  It had been a long day, but....carpe diem!

These sunflowers were larger than our heads, and we have big heads in this clan!

 Tall, really tall flowers!

God is so cool.  His creation is spectacular to behold.  Psalm 19

Firefly Show

The other night around 11p.m. hubby called me to the back window.  "Come here, you've got to see this."  In our backyard were hundreds and hundreds of lightening bugs displaying their version of a fireworks show.  I was completely enchanted with all the flickering lights.  I don't know if it is the season of love for these little guys or what but I had to share it with you because my mom texted me last night to say she had a gazzillion as well.  So tonight, look outside and see if they are waiting to show off for you too!

Psalm 111:2
Great are the works of the LORD; they are pondered by all who delight in them

Pockets of Peace

We spent a glorious day romping through the Catoctin Mountains at Cunningham Falls.  It is a 78 foot waterfall, the biggest in Maryland.  After a month of stress and crisis, we have had 2 memorable pockets of peace that have resonated within us.  One was having dinner at a friends; whose backyard is something to behold.  They have a beautiful pond and gardens and little nooks to sit and rest upon.  The second was this outing we took with our dear friends.  You know when you keep pushing and trudging your way through hardship after hardship, the moment you come into contact with a peaceful surrounding it trumps everything.

Sissy and Daddy raced to the top of the rocky cliff.  Daddy was oh so close, but Sissy won!!

Here is a part of the waterfall.  You can climb to the very top.  We saw some people in flip flops climbing-Yikes!

Alas, here is our very own strong man moving through the debris! :)  A day with friends in God's beautiful gift of creation, it warms my soul...

Psalms 85:10 NIV

Love and faithfulness meet together; righteousness and peace kiss each other.

Blessings,
E.W.
