The Choir

Our school competed again this year at the ACSI Fine Arts Festival.  This year for the first time we had a full choir to participate.  Douglas worked diligently all year with each section of the choir (alto, bass, tenor, soprano) during lunch and sometimes after school.  He was thinking about what music they would sing last SUMMER!  They  performed 'Oh Danny Boy' and 'The Battle Hymn of the Republic'.  They all did a marvelous job!
Megan sang a solo and Doug accompanied her on the piano.  Doug also played a piano piece as well.  The school took home blue ribbons all around.  Well done!

The Oscar's

No gangsters no flappers.  More guys than gals at the Oscar's.  Lots of pretty dresses and slick lookin' fellows!

Dance instructions for beginning swing has everybody on the floor twirlin' and laughing.  People make funny faces when they dance...
 No partner...no problem...

The girl on fire (AKA Hunger Games)  Kirsten's dress would light up when she twirled!
Bow tie lessons occurred tonight, aren't they dazzling?

Red carpet, roaring 20's.

Parade of Flowers

My husband is the most romantic guy this side of the Atlantic!  He throws the best parties!  Tonight, in honor of Valentine's Day and all 4 couples celebrating 19 years of marriage, we gathered together to reacquaint ourselves with our one true love!

The evening kicked off with a serenading of this trio.

Sushi for dinner
Then the ceremony began.  Each hubby had a dozen flowers for their best girl.  One at a time the guys took turns gifting each individual flower along with a scripture, memory, song, poem, or encouragement that meant the most to him to his wifey.  There was so many tears of joy and overwhelming emotion that we never wanted to flowers to end.  It was dear and thoughtful and a forever tuck-away-memory.
There were LOTS of kisses happening!!
They lite the chandelier one at a time to represent Christ as our light, our centerpiece in our marriages.

Each couple signed a covenant of our love and devotion and commitment to our marriages and to be accountable to each other in our journey.

Here stand the most blessed 4 gals this side of the Atlantic!!

I am my beloveds and he is mine,

It did snow in February

There was one morning in February (I think it was Saturday the 11th) that it snowed very briefly.  My Gabe managed to use all the snow in the front yard to conjure up a snowman.  Thank goodness for my camera that holds these occurances that my brain tends to forget!

Sunny Brunch

In the hustle of daily living we sometimes get so busy we really are living in 'rote-zone'; do the next thing, get the lists checked off, keep up with the sqweeky wheels, pay attention, be mindful, and remember to come up for air.  As an adult a 'time-out' is a good thing, a needed thing.  The Lord put it on my heart to have a brunch with some well deserving moms.

Wear something pink or red beings that its February and all...not to mention my signature color!
Right here is a picture of a true servant's heart.  I have never met anyone like my Sandra who serve's with a joyful spirit always, always pitching in to help in anyway!  Mark 10:45 and Phil 1:4-Love you girl!
Chocolate covered strawberries, cream of mushroom soup, lemon cake, fresh fruit, and muffins.

I gathered all my tea cups and linens that only appear for treats like these.  It was delightful preparing for this morning!

This was one way I hadn't thought of for using linen napkins.
Triple cream brie with cherry honey served on a deserving french baguette, thank you Wegman's!  Each lady hunted for a love note from God that was placed around the room with a scripture verse that was meant for her.  One gal even took the instruction heart home because she didn't know the verse, so sweet.
*GET YOUR PINK ON!*

I read a little devotional and prayed for everyone.  It was a truly lovely morning!
